Afgelopen weekend is een bestelbus vol Nikon apparatuur gestolen, waarin onder andere twee gloednieuwe Nikon D4's en een D800 in lagen. Het busje stond aan de rand van het Phoenix Park in Dublin in verband met een roadshow van NPS, de Nikon-afdeling voor professionele fotografen. De totale waarde wordt geschat op £ 100.000 (circa € 120.000). Los van de nieuwe professionele modellen bevatte de bus ook een groot aantal dure lenzen, waaronder de 200-400 f4, 400mm f2.8, en de 600mm f4. Maar los van de financiële schade is het verlies van de drie nieuwe professionele bodies pijnlijk - met name omdat deze momenteel nog niet op de markt zijn en het pre-productie-exemplaren betreft.
